The international festival year has begun and Film i Väst’s co-productions are well represented in Göteborg, Rotterdam, Sundance and Berlin.

At Göteborg Film Festival four co-productions are competing for Dragon Award Best Nordic Film worth approx. 100.000 euro.

  • Gabriela Pichler’s Amateurs, which also will open the festival.
  • Isabella Eklöf’s Holiday
  • Iram Haq’s What Will People Say
  • Milad Alami’s The Charmer
  • Furthermore Cecilia Björk is competing in the section Dragon Award Best Nordic Documentary with her A Good Week for Democracy.

In Rotterdam four co-productions are represented in the following sections:

  • The Heart, Fanni Metelius, Bright Futures
  • Amateurs, Gabriela Pichler, Live. Amateurs has also been selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s IFFR Live programme.The six films selected for the section will be simulcast to cinemas in more than forty countries, at the same time as their festival screenings in Rotterdam, with special guests in attendance for the Q&A’s.

  • What Will People Say?, Iram Haq, Voices

In Sundance Isabella Eklöf’s Holiday will be shown in World Drama section.

We are still waiting for the final line-up in Berlin. So far Linda Hambäck’s Gordon and Paddy will be screened in Generation Kplus and Pernille Fischer Christensen’s Becoming Astrid will be screened at Berlinale Gala Specials. In Panorama, Ioana Uricaru’s Lemonade will be screened.
