Synopsis

"Beware of Children" takes place around a school in Oslo and initially focuses on 13-year-old Lykke, the daughter of a social democratic minister, who accidentally kills Jamie, the son of a prominent politician from the Progress Party (FrP). The film follows the aftermath of the accident and explores what it means to be a child in Norway today.

Production Facts

Henriette Steensrup plays the lead role of Liv, the principal of the school where the accident occurs. Thorbjørn Harr plays the FrP politician Per Erik Lundmo, who loses his son. As is typical in Dag Johan Haugerud's films, the most serious themes are depicted with humor and warmth. Other cast members include Jan Gunnar Røise, Brynjar Bandlien, Andrea Bræin Hovig, Hans Olav Brenner, Trine Wiggen, Selome Emnetu, Anne Marit Jacobsen, and Tone Danielsen.
