Synopsis

The film is set in 1999. The 67-year-old Trond has recently started living a solitary life and looks forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve in 2000 alone. When winter arrives, Trond discovers that he has a neighbor, a man he knew in 1948. That summer, when he was 15, his father prepared him to bear the burden of an impending betrayal and disappearance. It was the same summer that Trond grew up and sensed the fragrance of a woman he longed for – the same woman his father was ready to spend his life with.
