Synopsis
The year is 1402. Queen Margareta has achieved what no man has done before her. She has united Denmark, Norway, and Sweden in a peaceful union which she alone governs through her young, adopted son Erik. The union is surrounded by enemies, and Margareta is planning a marriage between Erik and Princess Philippa of England. An alliance with England is intended to secure the union’s position as a new European power and prevent attacks, but a staggering conspiracy is underway that places Margareta in an impossible dilemma that could cost her everything.
The story of Queen Margareta, the woman who united the Nordic countries into a single kingdom, has never before been told on film. The film highlights the story of a woman who created something extraordinarily significant with enormous consequences for her life and identity. She was a woman ahead of her time who sacrificed herself for the North. Queen Margareta finds herself at the center of power when a shocking rumor reaches the castle walls and places her in an inhuman dilemma where one wrong choice could destroy everything.
