Synopsis
Chile, in the early 20th century. Three riders are hired by a wealthy landowner to mark the boundaries of his vast estate and open a path to the Atlantic for his sheep. The expedition, consisting of a young Chilean of mixed descent, an American mercenary, and a ruthless British lieutenant, soon takes a new "civilizing" turn in a raid over the vast Patagonian landscape.
Production Facts
Felipe Gálvez was born in Santiago de Chile in 1983 and graduated from the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has directed several short films, including "Raptor", which premiered at Semaine de la Critique in Cannes in 2018. "The Settlers" is his first feature film, which he also co-wrote with Antonia Girardi.
