Synopsis
The film tells the story of a young man who is about to be transferred from a juvenile detention center to an adult prison. There, he comes under the wing of both Australia's most reviled criminal and a prisoner soon to be released on parole. A paternalistic love-hate triangle unfolds between them, revealing that even the most hardened individuals carry something good within them – something that will ultimately lead to their downfall.
Production Facts
Inside is the feature film debut of Charles Williams, whose short film "All These Creatures" won the Short Film Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018.
The film stars Guy Pearce ("LA Confidential", "Memento"), Cosmo Jarvis ("Persuasion", "Lady Macbeth") and newcomer Vincent Miller, alongside Toby Wallace ("Babyteeth", "The Royal Hotel"), Tara Morice ("Strictly Ballroom", "Dance Academy"), Chloé Hayden ("Heartbreak High"), and Michael Logo ("Colin From Accounts").
The film is produced by Macgowan Films, Marian Macgowan, and Never Sleep Pictures, Thomas M Wright, and Kate Glover, in co-production with the Gothenburg-based company Filmgate Films, Sean Wheelan, and Film i Väst. Parts of the post-production were completed by Filmgate Films.
