Kerstin Linden plays the iconic role of Ronja the Robber's Daughter in the new film version of Astrid Lindgren's beloved drama. Alongside her is Birk Borkason, played by Jack Bergenholtz Henriksson. In the roles of Mattis and Lovis we see Christopher Wagelin and Krista Kosonen. Borka is played by Sverrir Gudnason, and mother Undis is portrayed by Maria Nohra.

"Ronja Rövardotter" is written by "The Bridge" creator Hans Rosenfeldt. The first season is directed by Lisa James Larsson, the second by Pontus Klänge, and produced by Bonnie Skoog Feeney and Mattias Arehn (Björnstad) for Filmlance International with Sara Askelöf as executive producer at Viaplay Group and Hanne Palmqvist as executive producer at Filmlance International AB.

Johan Palmgren is executive producer at Astrid Lindgren AB. Maggie Widstrand is responsible for casting all children, and Tusse Lande has cast all adult actors.

The Swedish-language series in twelve episodes, divided into two seasons, is produced by Filmlance International, Bonnie Skoog Feeney and Mattias Ahren, for Viaplay Group in co-production with Film i Väst. Filming took place around Sweden, including in Region Västra Götaland. The series has been shown on Netflix and SVT.
