Synopsis
Inspired by a true story, directed by Magnus von Horn, "Flickan med Nålen" is a harrowing tale of a woman in search of love and a sense of morality.
Karoline (Vic Carmen Sonne), a young factory worker, tries to scrape by in Copenhagen in the years following the First World War. Unemployed, abandoned, and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an illegal adoption agency, helping mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to go, Karoline becomes a wet nurse. A strong bond forms between the two women, but Karoline's world falls apart when she uncovers the shocking truth about her work.
