Synopsis

The film is set in the 1860s in the Northwestern United States. We follow Isabel, a Native American woman who has been educated at a Christian missionary school, and thus struggles with the loss of her cultural heritage. She begins her work as a governess for the daughters of a British widower. As the arranged marriage of the eldest daughter approaches, tensions in the household escalate, and a mysterious connection between the women and the surrounding forest is revealed — a bond that the girls' father is desperate to dissolve.

Nathalie Álvarez Mesén's "The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands" is produced by Nima Yosefi from HOBAB. It is her second feature film after "Clara Sola", and she both directs and co-writes the screenplay with Sjón.
