Bloody Men

Jävla karlar

Sverige

The film is based on Andrev Walden’s bestselling novel "Jävla karlar" ("Bloody Awful in Different Ways"). The book has won multiple awards, been sold to over 30 countries, and topped the charts in both Sweden and Norway.

Synopsis

"Once, I had seven fathers in seven years. This is the story of those years. If anything sounds made up, you can be sure it’s true."

A boy named Andrev discovers that his father isn’t really his father. Instead, it’s only new “fathers” who aren’t his. One disaster after another: the self-important “Plant magician,” the dull “Priest,” and the truly frightening “Thief,” who not only shoplifts while Andrev is around but also comes close to taking his mother’s life…

"Bloody Men" is a wild story about growing up amid the aftermath of the ’68 movement, about mothers standing under the kitchen hood muttering “Bloody Men”, and about how love begins and ends.
