Synopsis

The film follows the crossing paths of Stellan Skarsgård, who voices the rat Dante, and David Dencik, who plays bank clerk Helge. When Helge is suddenly forced to flee, he ends up at the city’s landfill where Dante lives. The film is a detective story in which the quest to find the real culprit—so that Helge can prove his innocence—leads through newfound friendship, stolen millions, and dynamite.

"Dante" is produced by LEE Film in co-production with Nørlum, Mikrofilm, and Film i Väst. Linda Hambäck reunites with the Nordic region’s top animation team at Dockhus Animation in Trollhättan, Nørlum in Viborg, Denmark, and Mikrofilm in Norway.

Cast: The leading roles are voiced by Stellan Skarsgård, David Dencik, Vanna Rosenberg, Eric Stern, Kalle Westerdahl, Tova Magnusson, Melinda Kinnaman, Erik Lundin, and the child Ella is excellently portrayed by Noemi Sjöblom.

Swedish theatrical release: Planned for autumn 2026.
