Synopsis
The film takes us to the nowhere and everywhere of a near-future dystopian world, where society has been utterly reshaped. Drought, global unrest, and depleted resources have turned us toward a total dependence on an artificial intelligence system known as the Head. Yet, while everyone’s consciousness and every facet of their daily lives are synced to this technology, the Neosouls, a group of refugees led by a mysterious figure named Rana (Noomi Rapace), have continued to live off the grid.
When these nomads arrive to the city in search of resources, they’re met first with a mandate to connect to the Head, then with gruesome violence. After one of their own is murdered, Djonny (Andrzej Konopka), a detective who was once a refugee himself, is brought in to investigate. But when he comes face to face with Rana, he finds himself gradually spiraling toward the edge of madness — or at least toward his truest self, stripped of the invisible, pervasive force of advanced technology.
