36 Swedish Guldbagge Award nominations for Film i Väst’s co-productions

The nominations for the Guldbagge Awards for the film year 2023 have been presented. In total Film i Väst co-productions received 36 nominations. Both Hammarskjöld and Opponent were presented with seven nominations, The Gullspång Miracle and Together 99 received four nominations each. The Guldbagge Awards Gala is arranged by the Swedish Film Institute in collaboration with SVT and will take place on January 15, 2024.
– We congratulate all nominees and wish them the best at the gala. As co-producers we are very proud and the fact that the films are nominated in all categories is a special plus. All nominated co-productions are filmed in our region, Västra Götaland, says Kristina Börjeson, Head of Production at Film i Väst.

The Award of Honour (Hedersguldbagge) will be presented, as well as the Gullspira (for extraordinary contributions in films for children) and the The Guldbagge Audience Award.
Awarded annually since 1964, the Guldbagge (“Golden Beetle”) is the name of the Swedish Film Institute’s award for achievements in film during the previous year.
In total, 25 films were nominated – 18 features, four documentaries and three short films.
