Film i Väst Co-Production Fjord Wins the Palme d’Or in Cannes

Film i Väst’s co-production "Fjord" by Cristian Mungiu was awarded the Palme d’Or, the top prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, earlier tonight. The film is one of three co-productions from Film i Väst selected for the 2026 festival, where both "Fjord" by Cristian Mungiu and "Gentle Monster" by Marie Kreutzer competed in the main competition, while "The End" by Niki Lindroth von Bahr participated in the Short Film Competition.

This year’s festival also marks the tenth consecutive year that Film i Väst co-productions have participated in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
