Production is underway on Nathalie Álvarez Mesén’s English-language feature "The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands". On December 8–9, the production arrives in Gothenburg for its final shoot days. The ensemble cast brings together Scandinavian and international talent, featuring Alexander Skarsgård, Darla Contois, Lily LaTorre, Bronte Carmichael, Forrest Goodluck, and Pernilla August.

Alexander Skarsgård, Golden Globe winner for "Big Little Lies", was most recently seen in "Succession", "Lee", and "Pillion". Darla Contois recently received a Canadian Screen Award for the drama series "Little Bird". Forrest Goodluck is known for "The Revenant" and "How to Blow Up a Pipeline". Bronte Carmichael has been noted for her roles in "Star Wars: Andor" and "Christopher Robin". Lily LaTorre appeared in "Run Rabbit Run". Pernilla August is one of Sweden’s most celebrated actors, internationally known for "Star Wars" and "The Best Intentions".

The screenplay is written by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén and Sjón, the award-winning Icelandic novelist, poet, and screenwriter. A longtime collaborator of Robert Eggers, Sjón co-wrote the internationally acclaimed films "Lamb" and "The Northman", and his literary work includes numerous celebrated novels as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Nordic storytelling.

Swedish–Costa Rican filmmaker Nathalie Álvarez Mesén broke through internationally with "Clara Sola" (2021), which premiered at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, won five Swedish Guldbagge Awards, and was Costa Rica’s Oscar submission. Her follow-up deepens her signature blend of intimate character work and magic realism, expanding it into a darker, more haunting period world.

Set in the 1880s Pacific Northwest, a Native American governess educated in a Christian mission school is hired to teach the two daughters of a British widower. While preparing the eldest for an arranged marriage, a force within her begins to awaken—threatening everything she has been taught.

The film is produced by HOBAB in co-production with Resolve Media, Quiddity, Need Productions, Still Vivid, Film i Väst, SVT, VOO, OBE & Be tv, Proximus, Shelter Prod, and Tint, in association with Finite Films, Northern Ireland Screen, and the UK Global Screen Fund financed by the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport and administered by the BFI. It is produced with the support of Eurimages, Creative Europe, the Swedish Film Institute, the Film and Audiovisual Center of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Screen Brussels, Taxshelter.be & ING, the Tax Shelter of the Belgian federal government, the Icelandic Film Centre, the Icelandic Tax Credit, and the Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

"The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands" is set for delivery in May 2026.
