Film i Väst, in collaboration with Zentropa Sweden, hosted the premiere screening of the co-production "The Last Viking" in Gothenburg, Sweden, earlier this week. The Danish box office success has sold over 500,000 cinema tickets in its first three weeks in Denmark. The exclusive event gathered 700 invited guests for an evening of celebration, film, and star-studded glamour.
The night began with a red carpet arrival, mingling, and photo opportunities featuring the film’s director and screenwriter Anders Thomas Jensen and cast members Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Kardo Razzazi, Bodil Jørgensen, and Peter Düring among the guests.
Before the screening, the film was introduced by Kristina Börjeson, Head of Production at Film i Väst, Lizette Jonjic, Producer at Zentropa Sweden, and Anders Thomas Jensen.

Synopsis
"The Last Viking" is about Anker, who is released after 14 years in prison for robbery. Anker’s brother, Manfred, is the only one who knows where the money from the robbery is hidden. However, he has developed a mental illness that causes him to no longer remember where it is concealed. Together, the brothers embark on a surprising journey — not only to find the money but also to discover who they really are. "The Last Viking" is a humorous, clever, and unsettling fable about identity.
