Two of Film i Väst’s co-productions have been selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where they will compete for the prestigious Palme d'Or: "Fjord" by Cristian Mungiu and "Gentle Monster" by Marie Kreutzer. This marks the tenth consecutive year that Film i Väst co-productions have been represented in the festival’s most prestigious section.

“Competing for the Palme d’Or in Cannes is among the greatest honours in the film world. Having had co-productions in the main competition for ten consecutive years is something we are extremely proud of. It demonstrates the strength of our long-term collaborations with leading filmmakers and producers " says Kristina Börjeson, Head of Production at Film i Väst

The Cannes Film Festival today, April 9, announced the selection for the festival’s official sections. Additional films may still be added, and further sections will be announced at a later date. The Cannes Film Festival takes place May 12–23.
