Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round, Maria Sødahl’s Hope and Kaouther Ben Hania’s The Man Who Sold His Skin has been selected by the Oscar nomination committees in Denmark, Norway and Tunisia. All three films has been co-produced by Film i Väst and the first two has been shot in Region Västra Götaland.
Another Round was honoured with the official selection label at Cannes Film Festival 2020 as well as Toronto International Film Festival 2020, where it had its international premiere. In addition, the drama won the award ‘Prix des Cinémas Art et Essai in France’, the LFF Virtual Audience Award for ‘Best Film’ at the BFI London Film Festival 2020 and the Silver Shell for ‘Best Actor’ at the 68th San Sebastian Film Festival. The drama has also been nominated for the European Film Awards 2020 within four categories: European Film, European Director, European Scriptwriter and European Actor.
Another Round has not least had a fantastic reception from the audience. Since the film’s local release on 24 September 2020, the film has had an overwhelming number of admissions. Almost 800,000 admissions have been sold locally despite the current covid-19 restrictions, and the ticket sales are still going. This makes the film Vinterberg’s greatest cinema success to date.

Maria Sødahl’s Hope had a very successful world premiere in the Discovery section at Toronto International Film Festival 2019 and subsequently had its European debut at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival 2020, where the film was both selected for the Panorama section and won the Europa Cinemas Label award. Hope also got nominated within two sections for the European Film Awards 2020: Maria Sødahl for ‘European Director’ and Andrea Bræin Hovig for ‘European Actress’.
The cast includes Norwegian actress Andrea Bræin Hovig (who takes the female lead opposite multi-award-winning Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård who stars as the male lead in the drama.

Kaouther Ben Hania’s The Man Who Sold His Skin had it’s world premiere at Venice International Film Festival, Orizzonti sectio enice International Film Festival, Orizzonti section, where it won Edipo Re Award (Università degli Studi di Padova e ResInt Rete dell’Economia Sociale Internazionale).
