Film i Väst co-produced A Man Called Ove by Hannes Holm has received Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The film is thus a strong contender at the Academy Awards Ceremony on 26 February.  In december it won European Comedy at European Film Awards

Love Larson and Eva von Bahr were nominated in the category Best Makeup and Hairstyling last year as well, that time for The Hundred Year-Old Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared (Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann), also co-produced by Film i Väst. The film has been seen by 1,7 million cinemagoers in Sweden (population 10 million). This makes it number three on the list of most successful Swedish films domestically ever.

A Man Called Ove is produced by Annica Bellander Rune and Nicklas Wikström Nicastro and production company SF Studios in co-production with Film i Väst, Nordisk Film, SVT, Nordsvensk Filmunderhållning, Fantefilm with funding from the Swedish Film Institute, Norwegian Film Institute and Nordic Film & TV fund.

A Man Called Ove is distributed in the US by Music Box and has opened in over 40 cities. It became one of the biggest grossing foreign language film at the box office in the US in 2016. The film has been sold to more than 50 countries, Japan (Medallion Media), France (Paradis Films), Greece (Videorama) and South Korea (Sidus) among others.
