Film i Väst’s co-productions are well represented at the film festivals in Göteborg, Sundance, Rotterdam and Clermont-Ferrand. 

 

 

The 44th edition of the Göteborg Film Festival (29 January-8 February) will show 70 films from 39 countries. Seven films will be competing in the Nordic Competition, among them three Film i Väst co-productions: Thomas Vinterberg‘s Another Round, shot in Västra Götaland in Sweden. Ninja Thyberg’s Pleasure, shot in Göteborg. And Magnus von Horn’s Sweat. All three quality marked with Cannes 2020 Label. Ruben Östlund, with whom Film i Väst has co-produced features as Palme d’Or winner The Square, Play, Force Majeure and Involuntary, will be given the Nordic Honorary Dragon Award.

 

 

 

Sundance Film Festival will take place digitally 28 January-3 February 2021. In the World Cinema Dramatic Competition, Ninja Thyberg’s Pleasure is represented.

 

 

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has announced special plans for its next edition. The festival will be celebrated in two parts, the first running from 1-7 February and the second from 2-6 June, connected by a series of dedicated physical and online events in between. The opening film will be Anders Thomas Jensen’s Riders of Justice, shot in Västra Götaland, Sweden. Magnus von Horn’s Sweat will also be screened.

 

The International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand will be held 31 Janury-8 February. Two co-productions are chosen for the international Competition: Morgane Dziurla-Petit’s Grab Them and Jonathan Etzler’s Swimmer.
