Five Oscar shortlistings for Film i Väst co-productions

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has now published the shortlists for twelve categories ahead of the 98th Academy Awards. Film i Väst co-productions have received a total of five shortlistings across four categories: Best International Feature Film, Best Cinematography, Best Casting, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Competing for Oscar nominations in these categories are the co-productions "Sentimental Value", "Palestine 36", and "The Ugly Stepsister," with "Sentimental Value" shortlisted in three categories.

Nomination dates

The nominations for the 98th Academy Awards will be announced on January 22, 2026. The Academy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Los Angeles.

National Oscar entries

Ahead of the shortlist, seven of Film i Väst’s co-productions had been selected as national Oscar submissions in the category Best International Feature Film.
