The success continues for Ruben Östlund, Oliver Hermanus, Tarik Saleh, Joachim Trier, Ali Abbasi, Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson and Hlynur Pálmason. Their films, and Film i Väst’s co-productions Triangle of Sadness, Living, Boy from Heaven/Cairo Conspiracy, The Worst Person in the World, Holy Spider, Beatiful Beings and Godland have been nominated to a number of national film prizes.

  • Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness and Tarik Salehs Boy from Heaven/Cairo Conspiracy has been nominated France’s ”Oscar” César Award in Best Foreign Film category.
  • Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person in the World has been nominated Best Foreign Film i Spains equivalent Goya
  • Oliver Hermanus Living, based on a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, has been nominated for Bafta as Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Adapted Screenplay (Kazuo Ishiguro), Leading Actor (Bill Nighy).
  • Ruben Östlund is also Bafta nominated for Triangle of Sadness: Original Screenplay, Supporting Actress (Dolly De Leon),Casting (Pauline Hansson)
  • The French film prize Les Prix Lumiéres have nominated Tarik Saleh’s Boy from Heaven/Cairo Conspiracy and Christian Mungiu’s R.M.N as Best foreign film.
  • In Denmark Hlynur Pálmason and Ali Abbasi have been nominated Best Danish film for the critic’s film prize Bodil for Godland and Holy Spider. Ruben Östlund and Joachim Trier are nominated Best non-American film for Triangle of Sadness and The Worst Person in the World.
  • The Danish national film prize Robert has nominated Ali Abbasi and Hlynur Pálmason for Best Danish Film for Holy Spider and Godland. Here Ruben Östlund is nominated Best film in English language for Triangle of Sadness. Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson and Joachim Trier are nominated for Best film, not in English for Beautiful Beings and The Worst Person in the World.
  • The Finnish national film prize Jussi has nominated Hanna Bergholm’s Hatching Film of the Year.
