Four European Film Award nominations for Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round and two for Maria Sødahl’s Hope. Both films has been co-produced by Film i Väst and were shot in Region Västra Götaland. Both films are also selected as Oscar entries by Denmark respectively Norway.

Another Round was honoured with the official selection label at Cannes Film Festival 2020 as well as Toronto International Film Festival 2020, where it had its international premiere. In addition, the drama won the award ‘Prix des Cinémas Art et Essai in France’, the LFF Virtual Audience Award for ‘Best Film’ at the BFI London Film Festival 2020 and the Silver Shell for ‘Best Actor’ at the 68th San Sebastian Film Festival.
Another Round has not least had a fantastic reception from the audience. Since the film’s local release on 24 September 2020, the film has had an overwhelming number of admissions. Almost 800,000 admissions have been sold locally despite the current covid-19 restrictions, and the ticket sales are still going. This makes the film Vinterberg’s greatest cinema success to date.

Maria Sødahl’s Hope had a very successful world premiere in the Discovery section at Toronto International Film Festival 2019 and subsequently had its European debut at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival 2020, where the film was both selected for the Panorama section and won the Europa Cinemas Label award.
The cast includes Norwegian actress Andrea Bræin Hovig (AN AFFAIR, 2018; ALL THE BEAUTY, 2016) who takes the female lead opposite multi-award-winning Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård (CHERNOBYL, 2019; OUT STEALING HORSES, 2019; NYMPHOMANIAC, 2013; MELANCHOLIA, 2011), who stars as the male lead in the drama.
