Film i Väst’s co-productions Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg, Hope by Maria Sødahl and The Man Who Sold His Skin by Kaouther Ben Hania have all been selcted for Oscar Shortlist together with twelve other international films.
Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round was recently nominated for a Golden Globe within the category “Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language”. It was honoured with the official selection label at Cannes Film Festival 2020 as well as Toronto International Film Festival 2020, where it had its international premiere. In addition, the drama won the award ‘Prix des Cinémas Art et Essai in France’, the LFF Virtual Audience Award for ‘Best Film’ at the BFI London Film Festival 2020, the Silver Shell for ‘Best Actor’ at the 68th San Sebastian Film Festival, and no less than four awards at the 33rd European Film Awards 2020 (‘Best European Film’, ‘Best European Director’, ‘Best European Actor’, ‘Best European Screenwriter’ plus a nomination for the new Lux European Audience Award). In addition, the film has been selected for Competition at Göteborg International Film Festival 2021 and nominated for the 25th annual Satellite Awards within the category “Motion Picture, International”.
The Danish drama is partly shot in Västra Götaland in west Sweden. Another Round is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Kasper Dissing for Zentropa Entertainments3 in co-production with Film i Väst, Zentropa Sweden, Lizette Jonjic.
The cast includes Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Lars Ranthe, Magnus Millang.
Maria Sødahl’s Hope had a very successful world premiere in the Discovery section at Toronto International Film Festival 2019 and subsequently had its European debut at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival 2020, where the film was both selected for the Panorama section and won the Europa Cinemas Label award. It was nominated for two European Film Awards 2020.
The cast includes Norwegian actress Andrea Bræin Hovig and Stellan Skarsgård.

Kaouther Ben Hania’s The Man Who Sold His Skin had it’s world premiere at Venice International Film Festival, Orizzonti sectio enice International Film Festival, Orizzonti section, where it won Edipo Re Award (Università degli Studi di Padova e ResInt Rete dell’Economia Sociale Internazionale).
