Ruben Östlund have received three Oscar nominations for his film Triangle of Sadness: Best Picture, Original Screenplay and Best Director. Living by Oliver Hermanus was nominated for Adapted Screenplay based on the novel with the same title by Kazuo Ishiguro. Bill Nighy was also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Both films are co-produced by Film i Väst. Triangle of Sadness was in part filmed in Göteborg and Studio Fares in Trollhättan by Plattform Produktion. Living was post-produced (VFX Agnes Asplund) in Göteborg by Filmgate, Sean Wheelan.

Triangle of Sadness is partially filmed in Studio Fares in Trollhättan and Göteborg and produced by Erik Hemmendorff at the Göteborgs based Plattform Produktion, and Philippe Bober and co-produced by Film i Väst among others.
Living is produced by Stephen Woolley, Number 9 Films in co-production with Sean Wheelan, Filmgate-Films, who also has handled part of the post-production finance and services.
Tarik Saleh’s Boy from Heaven/Cairo Conspiracy was Sweden’s submission and together with Denmark’s Holy Spider by Ali Abbasi shortlisted for an Oscar.
The last years, Film i Väst’s co-productions have been very succesful in the Oscar race. 2022 Joachim Trier was double nominated for his The Worst Person in the World (Best Foreign Language Film and Best Screenplay with Eskil Vogt). 2021 Thomas Vinterberg won Best International Film and was nominated Best Screenplay for his Another Round. Same year Kaouther Ben Hanias The Man Who Sold His Skin was nominated Best International Film.
